Less than a year and a half ago I stumbled upon Alan & Pim’s chicken restaurant. Since I just started working as a blogger I offered to write about them. Their concept was simple but clear: tasty chicken with influences from different international cultures! The interior of the restaurant feels masculine, tough and is very wooden, as you will see when you look at the robust bar and tables. Additionally, the open kitchen offers a perfect view of the authentic chicken spit and gives you a homely feeling as you observe the chef preparing your meal.

They’ve grown into a success business that resulted into opening their second
restaurant in The Hague, Scheveningen

I remember I was fond of the half chicken bitter sweet BBQ with a side of freshly made fries, grilled corncob and homemade coleslaw and the grilled chicken basted with a mixture of mustard, honey and BBQ-sauce and topped with spicy chives. They’ve added some amazing new items on the menu such as the sandwich pulled chicken bitter sweet BBQ and the BIG chick burger. Alan and Pim’s is indeed all about the chicken but they’ve also added something for the vegetarians. The Caesar Salad with romaine lettuce, vega chicken*, vega bacon*, caesar dressing, parmesan cheese and croutons. (*from the vegetarian butcher)

Within this this year and a half they’ve grown into a success business that resulted into opening their second restaurant in The Hague, Scheveningen. Alan & Pim’s chicken from the spit is a must-visit spot in Rotterdam (and now also The Hague). Offering tasty chicken and delicious freshly homemade side dishes, it is definitely worth a visit.
