The last month of the year 2016 has arrived and it’s getting colder and colder in Holland! But hey… the weekend is about to start, so don’t worry! Either you can turn on Netflix and watch your favourite shows over and over again or… you can head out and explore Rotterdam. I will give you some tips on what to do during this weekend to warm you up.

– Restaurant Bazar Rotterdam: At Bazar on the Witte de Withstraat they’re specialized in North African and the Middle Eastern dishes. Their warm interior takes you on a short vacation away from the cold weather outside, in my opinion, something that we all deserve 🙂  Try out the Mercimek Çorbasi, a lightly bound Turkish lentil soup with roast sucuk, lemon and yoghurt or if you want to share a Bizar Bazar (vegetarian) of grilled mushroom kebab with a stew made from beans and prunes, falafel, grilled artichoke, grilled tomato and zaalouk. Check out their menu here.

– Tea Village: Although I’m more of a coffee lover I also like to have a cup of tea occasionally. Especially at a place with such a home like feeling. With more than 40 different varieties of tea you can never choose wrong at this cozy, intimate teashop. Their signature high tea always has a multicultural flavor to it that makes this place a unique experience. Check out their website

– 1 year Anniversary District A: Three days ago District A celebrated their 1 year anniversary! You’re all invited to come and “celebrate” this amazing achievement with them this weekend. Expect some innovative dishes made by Chef Nghia such as Tiger prawns stirred with chili and lemongrass sauce, Caramelized chicken and a for the vegetarians amongst us Tofu marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil topped with stir-fried vegetables. I’ll be there Saturday after 6pm come and join me this weekend! Check out their event here.

– Flat White Coffee: As a coffee addict I’m always looking for new coffee places to visit. Through Facebook I got to know about Flat White Coffee, my new favorite in Rotterdam! Owners Henk and Ciara are there to welcome you with open arms and will make each visit worthwhile. Try out their signature Flat White coffee and be surprised how quickly you can become a coffee addicted. Next to the coffee of Man met Bril they also serve lovely homemade Hummingbird cake by Pastry chef Alexa Wiersma and small lunch dishes. See more here.

This short list of tips are just a few of the many different places to visit during this or any weekend. Let me know what your favorite place is during the weekend!
