A few weeks ago I received a message from Mabel Nummerdor, a marketeer, speaker and author of Miss Marketing business. She came across ‘Discover my City, Rotterdam’ via a trendwatcher in Rotterdam and was wondering if I would be able to do a Rotterdam tour for a group of 18 ladies. Of all the new opportunities that crossed my path the last weeks this was one I could not resist! It turned out to be a bachelorette party so that even made me more nervous.

So after discussing the main subject we decided to do something with food, where I would be taking the ladies on a fun, creative, but mostly delicious tour through Rotterdam. In between the different restaurants I would tell them about the history, architecture and fun facts. I met up with them at The Cubic Houses. They seemed like a lovely group of woman and during the day I noticed my first impression was quite good. They seemed to be having a great time getting to know the city and each other (since some of them just met each other that day).

Our first stop was at Wah Nam Hong restaurant in the Markthal! The ladies got to taste all different kinds of Dim Sum which was presented on five huge silver platters. Chef Tim Kan kindly explained all the different dishes, where they are from and how to eat them.

Our second stop was at Green Delight on the Coolsingel. Our lovely host Emily Wong introduced us to some delicious homemade sweets and lemonade. At Green Delight she only serves passionate food from the heart!

Last but not least We ended up at Gracy’s, a complete fifties style diner. The pink walls, mint green leather chairs and black and white chequered floor makes for a unique place in Rotterdam. At Gracy’s we tried the Miss Gracy’s: a 150gr Black Angus burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and Gracy’s sauce. They also served a delicious milkshake topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
